UPDATE: New parts have been installed and oven is working fine and survived self-cleaning. whew! 4/9/08
We had this oven installed in October of 2007. It has never worked.
The convection fan was very loud at first then shut down altogether. Then the oven would not heat.
Service people have been here 5 times, to no avail. The Fisher & Paykel representative wants to continue to have the service people try to fix the oven rather than replace it. This includes replacing the skin on the door that was damaged when the hinge broke during one repair effort.
If you buy this oven you should know that it takes weeks to get parts, your repair people will not be happy about the repeated visits, and you may never have an oven (that you paid big bucks for) that actually works.
I have been very patient (that’s 5 months including holidays with no oven), but I think it’s time everyone who is interested in Fisher & Paykel ovens knows about my experience.
