We purchased this Whirlpool double oven for a new house we were building. I was so excited about making good selections for my “dream kitchen”. We went to a number of appliance stores, asked questions, and we thought we were making a good choice when we chose this oven. What a mistake! Every time I have gone to run the self-cleaning feature, it has completely obliterated the electronics! We have had the repairman over numerous times. Usually I’m without an oven while they order parts. They promise me that THIS time they’ve fixed the problem. Then I go to self-clean and once again the whole system goes. Twice it has happened days before a big holiday! This last time I prayed when I ran the self-clean feature because we are no longer covered by the warranty. It held up but I only ran it for less than two hours because I was so worried! My other issue is that the temperature of these ovens is not consistent. Things are either undercooked or burnt. The repairmen kept adjusting it but it has never been fixed. I’m an experienced cook but feel stuck with a dog. After spending $1500, do we just put it out at the curb for garbage pickup? One repairman told us off the record that this is all very common with this oven, which tells us that Whirlpool knows they have a problem but won’t do the right thing: replace it.
