Perhaps because I was a gas stove girl from way back, the Electric flat stove top has failed to catch on with me, but that doesn’t mean I would turn this stove back in just yet!

I have owned this Maytag for 3 months now and there are some great things about it. The smaller of the two ovens heats in a matter of minutes to 400 degrees. A feature I rather enjoy when needing quick biscuits or a pizza. The larger oven heats quickly as well and I like how even all of my food comes out, from cookies to turkeys. The oven light is bright, the windows large, and the display panel is very easy to use. I used the toast feature last week and it worked remarkably well for garlic bread. Overall, the ease of having two ovens has come in handier than I would have anticipated.

That said, I find their flat stovetop impossible to keep clean. I can polish, wipe, wax, and everything to keep it looking like day-one, but i find it cumbersome. I miss being able to lift up my pan, wipe down the oven and go on with my life. Also, wiping down the oven right away is difficult because the burners tend to stay hot for a long time—this is also difficult when gauging how to set your pan temperature. I have found that using 10 is best for boiling water—everyting else needs to stay around 7 or 8 or you burn your food. I would buy this stove again and I am happy to own it. Eventually I’ll get used to the stovetop as well I’m sure.
