Recently installed the Thermador ME302ES double oven because our old Thermador oven lasted a good 20 plus years with minimal issues. The stainless steel look and the touch pad look fantastic but the first time you try to clean the function pad and multiple buttons are pushed,or if the function keys are pushed out of proper sequence,the computer may get confused and shut the oven down, in which case an error message is displayed on the oven panel (in my case error message E005)with a number to call for service. The oven can not be used when the error messages are displayed and the manual does not tell you how to reset the oven. TECHNOLOGY OVERKILL !! Also, the first time the self cleaning function was used (in the upper oven)the inner layer of glass in the oven door shattered about 1 hr into the self clean. After hearing the glass shatter the oven was shut down. The oven did not shutdown automatically, which could have resulted in the outer of glass in the door shattering as well as exposing the house to a extremely hot doorless oven. Have contacted Thermador via their website and requested that they comment on this safety issue but have not seen a reply to date.
