Display Problem
Positive A nice looking unit with a brushed stainless finish.
Cons: Generic display failure and poor door seal.
My SCD302T double oven worked OK for nearly 4 years despite a noisy fan and some temperature inaccuracy. Then the display started to dim. Now I can’t see the time or temperature at all. When I called an authorized service company, they told me that they nearly ALL do this in 3-5 years, and that it costs $314 to have it fixed each time. When I called Thermador they would not make an adjustment. So why would you pay over $2500 for an oven? Not for reliability, it seems. Also, the door seal is poor and spilled liquid can get between the double glass. The oven racks must be removed and cleaned separately when using the self cleaning feature, or they will become heavily oxidized.
