Cons: UNBEARABLY LOUD, temperature doesn’t hold, too many glitches. Avoid this oven and company products!

This very expensive double electric Thermador oven is so annoying that I avoid using it. Instead, I bring out my toaster oven to use whenever I can.

The regular oven fan (NOT just convection) is truly louder than my washing machine! When the oven is on, we actually have to raise our voices in the kitchen and turn up the TV volume in the family room because it’s so loud. The company “explains” that the fan is necessary to cool electronic components — yes, but the fan is also necessary and used in Viking, Dacor, and other fine brands but their ovens don’t make any noise!

Also, the temperature has had to be re-calibrated FOUR times in 12 months! And the cooking probe shorted out by itself without my ever using it and, until it was replaced, the short prevented me from using the self-cleaning function. What an enormous and frustrating waste of money! And it’s so expensive that, having had it only 12 months, I can’t simply replace it. There are numerous beautiful and effective product choices that do not have the outrageously noisy fan. Go with the other brands.
