The specific product we have is the GMC305PDB, which is the 30″ version of the oven/microwave built-in. The first micro-processor, which is the control unit for both the oven and the microwave, failed after 10 months. The part was out of stock and the repair took over one month to complete, during which time we had no oven. The second micro-processor failed after less than 24 months, and the part is again out of stock and the repair is tentatively scheduled for 3 months from now, during which time we will again be without an oven…this time over the Christmas holiday season. Whirlpool has agreed to pay for the second part, but not the labor. I have currently written to the CEO to try to get a better resolution. According to the original repair technician, the micro-processor used was not suited for the appliance…I wonder how many other owners there are out there with the same problems we have.
